People will always be tempted to wipe their feet on anything with ‘welcome’ written on it.

This first post is all about overcoming inertia. How hard it was to get started! Creating a blog has been on my wish list for a long time, and I finally did it.

As the site name might suggest, this blog was inspired by my experiences as a long-time Windows user and software developer. But since I’ve also worked on a lot of other things I’ll probably post non-Windows and non-developer content as well.

There’s a lot of blogs out there and I don’t kid myself that I’m going to compete with the veterans. But I hope to eventually find my own niche and contribute something original and useful. Hopefully I won’t find myself just beating the proverbial dead horse.

I don’t claim to be an expert on everything. In fact, it surprises me after all these years how much I still don’t know. But I do have some solid experience and I promise to only post solutions I have actually tried (and which actually work), and graciously accept when someone (inevitably) points out a better solution. That’s a good thing; it’s how we learn. If you find something useful, let me know by posting a comment and feel free to link to the site.

I hope you find my information accurate and useful– maybe even a little entertaining.

Thank you kindly for visiting and please come back for my next post where I take a journey back in time…
